How travel can slow agingBy sustaining what scientists refer to as a “low-entropy” state, travel can improve health in many ways.
ADVERTISEMENTTravel activities such as swimming and hiking, and discovering new places can reduce stress, balance immune responses and boost overall well-being.
“Tourism isn’t just about leisure and recreation. It could also contribute to people’s physical and mental health,” Ms. Hu said.
She adds that traveling can help maintain the body’s self-defense systems by lowering chronic tension and stress — a vital process in slowing down signs of aging, given that chronic stress can speed up the aging process.
While other anti-aging studies, including Mayo Clinic’s research on “zombie cells,” focus on more technical interventions, this study sheds light on a more holistic approach.
While traveling, you might as well get an extra anti-aging boost by having a healthy, balanced diet and taking skincare supplements.
What are you waiting for? Pack your bags and book that trip to the fountain of youth.
